Dr. Christopher Haygood serves as Interim Director of Choral and Vocal Studies and Associate Professor of Choral Studies in the Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music of Oklahoma State University. He served as guest choral clinician and conductor in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, and Asia, with a special appearance with the Taiwan National Choir in Taipei. Session Description

Join the OSU Concert Chorale as they take us on an aural exploration of choral repertoire for middle and secondary choral ensembles. Each selection has been curated specifically for this interest session and will “WOW” with each wondrous element.

This session highlights choral repertoire for middle and secondary schools with a variety of voicing (Treble, TB, SAB, SATB) and developmental levels. Spanning from the Classical period to hot off the press (2025), the selected compositions feature female and underrepresented composers as well as historical composers who may be brand new names to most, but whose compositional output is as vibrant as Mozart. Participants will receive a complimentary packet of music, compliments of Alliance Music Publications, of each selection performed during the interest session.

In addition to a musical journey of exciting repertoire, the session simultaneously weaves the "Survival Guide for Repertoire Selection and Program Planning" into the selections to reinforce strategic voice and skill building through choral performance.
