In keeping with our mission to provide quality opportunities for music educators and their students to the best of our ability, we have been monitoring all of the aspects of the conference and the historic and unique situation that this year provides. We thank you for your patience as we worked toward an informed decision.
We will be hosting the full conference and All-State ensemble activities as scheduled from Wednesday, January 21, through Friday, January 23, at 5pm. We encourage you to attend as many of your planned events as possible. However, due to the extreme nature of this weekend’s forecast, all events after Friday at 5pm are cancelled.Â
Tickets pre-purchased for Friday night’s honor concerts and Saturday’s All-State concerts will be refunded electronically. Due to copyright restrictions, we are unable to livestream any of the events.Â

Is there a way some of the practice or other sessions could be shortened and a mini concert take their place so the students and parents may at least get that experience?
Any possibility that they could reschedule the concert later in the year? I remember a snow storm hitting during my all state year and we did it later.. we won’t talk about how many decades ago that was.
OKMEA is the Saturday morning session, "Sensory Songs: A Deep Dive into Sensory and Emotional Regulation in Early Childhood Music" cancelled entirely? Any chance of a virtual session?

Those of us who have been around over 30 years remember MANY times the weather would be forecast to be bad during OkMEA. And many times it was. Use your best judgement.
Will the sessions be offered on zoom for the people that can’t attend?
I get not wanting to cancel BUT I do not get the risk of life's of children and loss of property(cars). I get it. It's about the money and the inconvenience😢. Everybody stay safe out there. and it's weather and unpredictable it could change. tough call glad I don't have to make that decision.

What we hope is that common sense comes into play if kids and parents have to make the decision to leave.

The 2026 Winter Conference app is now available for all of those registered for the conference.
- Visit the link below to scan the QR code to download the app.
- The app code is OkMEAWinter26
- Use the same email address to access the app that you used to register for the conference
Take time to familiarize yourself with the app and build your schedule. This year all check in codes are included in the session description for each event. Check in will open 15 minutes prior to the event's start time and will close at the event's scheduled end time.
To access materials for a session, you will need to "register" for the session by adding it to your schedule. When you enter the check-in code, the event will be logged on your personalized professional development certificate.
