Congratulations to Jerry on this tremendous honor!OKLAHOMA MUSIC HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE (Educator Award) SPOTLIGHT

Jerry Huffer

In his more than 5o years as a music educator, countless Oklahoma music teachers have come to know Jerry as the face of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association. He has been involved in honoring thousands of students in All-State groups and has taught thousands of classes and students. And in the middle of all of that he says the kids became his life. When Jerry recently retired for the second time, there were 137 music teachers paying tribute at the banquet in his honor. Mr. Huffer has become a bit of a legend among High School band students all over Oklahoma.

Clarinet Day at OCU is coming up this Saturday, January 27th featuring guest artist Dr. Stefanie Gardner and Dr. Andrew DeBoer. Dr. Larkin Sanders of the Clever Clarinetist will also be in attendance with instruments, accessories, and clarinet swag for folks to try and purchase. Participation is free of charge, but participants are required to register if they wish to be part of the clarinet choir or any masterclasses. High school juniors and seniors may submit a short video clip of an etude, solo, or excerpt to be considered for participation in one of the masterclasses.
