Proposals should be in the form of a one-page abstract (under 1000 words – preferred length is 400–600 words without references) and should summarize, in prose, the following elements of your study:
(a) purpose/problem
(b) sample

A reference list is optional and can be submitted separately. Please know that ALL paradigms, methodologies, and approaches to research in our field are welcomed and encouraged (e.g., philosophical, historical, or empirical research; quantitative or qualitative; descriptive, causal-comparative, correlational, or experimental; action research; and so on). Reports of research-in-progress (with expected completion by the conference date) are also welcome.

Deadline and Submission Process

Deadline for Proposals:

Proposal Application

Meeting this deadline will make it possible to advertise specific presentation topics and presenters in the OkMEA program. Proposals submitted after this time may be considered if openings exist. However, it may not be possible to advertise them in the conference program.

Review, Selection, and Session Format

Proposals will be read by two or more qualified external reviewers who will be blind to applicant identity. As such, the accepted papers/posters will have passed a refereed criterion. The session will consist of a dedicated time for researchers to present the study to those in attendance in an informal setting. Please know that there are a limited number of available spaces and that some who apply may not be selected to present their work this year. Also, please know that we do not provide honoraria or expense reimbursement for those accepted to give research presentations.

Presenters will be notified of their selection status via email by the week of November 6, 2024.  Reviewers’ feedback to applicants will be provided.

Conference Registration

All participants must register for the conference. Conference registration information can be found here.
