A dedicated music education advocate, Lisa Michaels founded Bandology in 2017, a non-profit dedicated to more music for more kids, and has presented at the Midwest Band Clinic and MEA conferences in Texas, Ohio, New Jersey, Vermont and Ontario (seven times). She holds a Master of Arts degree in Community Music from Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada.

Session Description

This session explores how to build/engage a parent support network to strengthen music programs. Presented by an experienced music education advocate (and music parent), this workshop shares strategies for identifying and building relationships with interested parents, effectively sharing information, deploying volunteers, and expanding opportunities without increasing teacher workload.
