| Session Title | Engage the Brain, Engage the Singer: Tools for the Thoughtful Choral Educator |
| Session Description | What if your rehearsal plan could be backed by brain science and bring more joy to your singers? This interactive session unpacks how simple, evidence-based strategies—rooted in educational neuroscience—can make your rehearsals more efficient, inclusive, and musically meaningful. From audition games to movement-based memory hacks and collaborative problem-solving prompts, attendees will leave with rehearsal-ready ideas they can use on Monday morning. There will be no jargon, no dense theory—just powerful tools for real classrooms. Attendees will learn how to boost singer engagement and memory by applying strategies grounded in how the brain learns. They’ll explore how to replace rote repetition with creative, student-centered rehearsal techniques that foster deep understanding and musical independence. The session will highlight ways to integrate movement, self-monitoring, and collaborative problem-solving into daily practice, helping educators design rehearsals that spark joy and bring music to life in lasting, transformative ways. |
