| Presenter's Short Biography | Sandy danced with children for over 30 years, teaching traditional dances in her elementary music classroom. She counts Peter and Mary Alice Amidon and Martha Riley as her mentors for teaching dance to children. Sandy reconnected with her adult dance community and joined CDSS in the fall of 2008. She has joyously become a dancer, caller, and dance organizer. Sandy has called at open mic events at dance weekends, at music education conferences, at weddings /community dances/local schools, and regularly calls in Oklahoma City, Norman, and in Wichita, Ks. | Session Description | Let's bring our music education community together by connecting with each other through dancing! Sandy Knudson and Jacob Chen will lead various dances with LIVE music (TBD). Though these dances are intended for dancing together as adults, you can take these dances and use them in your own classroom! No partner or prior dance experience needed! |
