| Session Title | From General Music Foundations to Beginning Band and Strings |
| Session Description | Bring your band or string instrument (or voice) and be ready to make music. This interactive workshop explores how Band and Orchestra programs can build upon the creativity, exploration, and musical skills developed in General Music through a sound-before-sight approach that includes singing, playing by ear, improvising, and creating. Participants will experience practical strategies that promote belonging, access, student voice, and long-term engagement. Leave with ready-to-use ideas for integrating singing and playing, building a diverse shared repertoire, and incorporating creativity, exploration, and student choice into ensemble instruction. |
