Session Proposals

Dr. Jeffery Wall serves as Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He is in demand as a conductor, teacher, clinician, and adjudicator. He is conductor of a professional-level non-profit choir headquartered in Broken Arrow/Tulsa, Oklahoma called Vox Solaris Chamber Choir.

He has served as conductor and clinician for choirs of all types throughout the U.S., The Republic of Ireland, and in the Baltic nations of Latvia and Estonia. He has conducted the NSU choirs as prelude performance for the North Texas Metroplex Children’s Choir Annual Festival at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. He has served the Southwestern Division of the American Choral Directors Association in several capacities: 2020 Performing Group Liaison, 2022 Interest Session Chair, 2024 Conference Chair, and 2026 Treasurer. Wall has presented interest sessions for the Missouri Music Educators Association, Missouri Choral Directors Association, Kansas Choral Directors Association, Oklahoma Music Educators Association, Oklahoma Choral Directors Association, Arkansas Music Educators Association, the College Music Society, and the Southwestern Division of the American Choral Directors Association.

He holds a BM in Vocal Music Education from Texas Tech University, an MM in Choral Conducting from the University of Tennessee, and DMA in Choral Conducting from the University of South Carolina.

Many choirs contain a broad range of experience, literacy, and vocal development, often within the same section. This session focuses on rehearsal structures and instructional strategies that maintain high standards without slowing advanced singers or losing developing ones. Rather than relying on extra rehearsals or constant remediation, participants will explore systems that allow ALL singers to remain engaged, accountable, and growing within a shared rehearsal environment.

Emphasis is on efficiency, clarity of task, and transferable rehearsal habits that reduce director burnout while increasing singer independence.
