| Presenter's Short Biography | Jeff Scott Jeff Scott is the co-author and middle school lead for the highly regarded Habits of Success series, published by GIA Publications. Publications include “Habits of a Successful Beginning Band Musician”, “Habits of a Highly Successful Intermediate Band Musician”, “Habits of a Highly Successful Middle Level Musician” and “Habits of a Highly Successful Middle school Band Director”. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Scott was the Director of Bands at Cario Middle School in Mount Pleasant, SC. He is active as a speaker and clinician throughout North America. |

| Session Description | In this session, we will take an in depth look at the recruiting process, from attracting students, through instrument placement. We will also discuss creating a culture for success that allows for long term recruiting success. While this clinic has an emphasis on beginner band recruiting, concepts discussed may be valuable to anyone building their music program. Finally, we will explore ways to create a program that meets the needs of the individual student while allowing access to for all students. Participants will be able to design a year long recruiting program that is highly effective, sustainable and meets the needs of the individual student while meeting the needs of the overall program |
