Jeff Scott

Jeff Scott is the co-author and middle school lead for the highly regarded Habits of Success series, published by GIA Publications. Publications include “Habits of a Successful Beginning Band Musician”, “Habits of a Highly Successful Intermediate Band Musician”, “Habits of a Highly Successful Middle Level Musician” and “Habits of a Highly Successful Middle school Band Director”. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Scott was the Director of Bands at Cario Middle School in Mount Pleasant, SC. He is active as a speaker and clinician throughout North America.

This session will focus on what is really important in our roles as teachers and how to inspire students through meaningful relationships. We will discuss classroom environments, building a culture of success and a tradition of loyalty and success. The session will focus on meeting the needs of each individual student while creating a dynamic and positive learning environment in the classroom.

Participants will become familiar with the skills and techniques that lead to student engagement, motivation and success in the music program. Attendees will leave with the skills to evaluate their current classroom situation and knowledge of how to create a more dynamic classroom environment.
