| Presenter's Short Biography | Jeff Scott Jeff Scott is the co-author and middle school lead for the highly regarded Habits of Success series, published by GIA Publications. Publications include “Habits of a Successful Beginning Band Musician”, “Habits of a Highly Successful Intermediate Band Musician”, “Habits of a Highly Successful Middle Level Musician” and “Habits of a Highly Successful Middle school Band Director”. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Scott was the Director of Bands at Cario Middle School in Mount Pleasant, SC. He is active as a speaker and clinician throughout North America. |

| Session Description | This clinic will be focused on effective teaching strategies for the first year of band instruction, including improving rhythm counting, effective beginning of the year strategies, teacher tips and a wide variety of resources available to both students and teachers. This clinic will be helpful to all teachers of beginning musicians, especially for those new to our profession and new to working with beginners. |
