The Choral Accompanist provides piano accompaniment for rehearsals, performances, and other choir-related activities. Responsibilities include collaborating with the choir director, assisting with sectionals, sight-reading music, and adapting to various musical styles. The accompanist should demonstrate strong technical proficiency, reliability, and the ability to follow a conductor’s direction. 2 hours a day $15,000 a year. Qualifications for a Choral Accompanist:

1. Proficiency in Piano Performance – Strong sight-reading skills and the ability to play a variety of choral repertoire with accuracy and musicality.
2. Experience Accompanying Choirs – Prior experience working with school, church, or community choirs is preferred.
3. Ability to Follow a Conductor – Strong collaboration skills to respond to direction, tempo changes, and dynamics in real-time.
4. Knowledge of Vocal Techniques – Understanding of choral singing, diction, and phrasing to support singers effectively.
5. Flexibility & Adaptability – Ability to adjust to different skill levels, rehearsal needs, and musical styles.
6. Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Works well with directors, students, and other musicians in a positive and professional manner.
7. Education & Training – A degree in music (preferred but not required) or equivalent experience in accompanying and music performance.
8. Reliability & Professionalism – Consistent attendance, preparation, and a commitment to supporting the choir’s musical goals.
