Reports to: Director of Education and Community Engagement
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Salary Range: $42,000 – $46,000
Schedule: 9am – 5pm (M-F), with some evenings and weekends
POSITION SUMMARY
The Education Programs Coordinator is responsible for developing, administering, and evaluating all Education programs for the OKCPHIL. The individual in this role works collaboratively to design, create, and implement educational programs and partnerships that fulfill the mission of the OKCPHIL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• In collaboration with the leadership team, develop and implement OKCPHIL’s Education strategy and activities for schools, young people, and families
• Manage the planning and operation of all education programs, including, but not limited to, recruiting program participants, scheduling, contracting, coordinating with outside partners and other departments, collecting program fees, reporting education program payroll, acquiring supplies, creating materials, attending programs, and assisting with programming
• Provide input into the education program budget and monitor program expenses
• In collaboration with the Director of Education and Community Engagement, establish procedures for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of programs
• Work collaboratively with orchestra musicians on education and community programs
• Collaborate with the Development department to provide necessary proposal information and reports to foundations, corporations, and individual donors
• Collaborate with all departments to source young musicians for special performances and events
• Collaborate with the Marketing department on promoting Education programs via print materials, emails, website updates, and education-related social media posts
• Serve as staff liaison to relevant volunteer committees
• Prepare and maintain statistical records of all Education and Community Engagement activities
• Collaborate with statewide school districts to promote the growth and evolution of the OKCPHIL’s programs in schools
• Assist artistic staff in creating engaging concert experiences and lobby activities for Discovery Family and Youth concerts
• Develop print, web, and other media educational materials and classroom supplements
• Evaluate safety risks for program participants and establish safeguards to mitigate any risks or hazards
• Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in music, music education, or equivalent experience preferred
• Knowledge of orchestral repertoire
• Relevant work experience teaching or managing education programs of 2-3 years is strongly preferred
SKILLS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills
• Strong strategic thinking, planning, and implementation skills to effectively and efficiently manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret survey data and provide cost projections for various initiatives
• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and stooping
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
