Oklahoma MEA has only one audition for both the Mixed and Women's Choruses. Every interested student auditions for the mixed chorus, and the committee will place the singers after the final–round audition.

All-OMEA Application Deadlines:
Deadline for audition applications and email of student entries, is September 20, 2013 ($15 entry fee per student)
Late application postmark deadlineand email of student entries, is September 21 to 27, 2013 ($45 entry fee per student)
After September 27 all entries fall into the EMERGENCY category and are $100.00 for each student.
Audition Dates:
First Round Auditions: Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Quad Sites
Audition Quadrants are: Northwest: Enid High School (Ron Wallace/Paula Kiner)
Northeast: Broken Arrow Centennial Middle School (Mindy Bettridge)
Southwest: Lawton Central Middle School (Debbie Wood)
Southeast: McAlester High School (Peggy Shelby)
Second Round Auditions: Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
The Oklahoma Committee for 2014 includes, Rhonda Maynard (Chair), Paula Kiner (Past Chair), Amber Mash (2015 Chair), and Julie Hester (2016 Chair).
The 2014 Mixed Chorus Conductor will be former Oklahoman, Dr. Joey Martin. Martin is Professor of Music at Texas State University–San Marcos, and serves as the Associate Director for the School of Music and Director of Choral Activities, teaching graduate courses in choral conducting, choral literature and vocal pedagogy. He received his DMA in choral conducting from the University of Texas–Austin. His Master of Music and Bachelor of Music Education (Vocal/Choral) degrees are from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he studied voice with Charles Chapman and piano with James Breckenridge. I hope you’ll join me in welcoming him back to Oklahoma!

Kevin Zinn is our rehearsal CD producer. CD order forms may be downloaded from the OCDA website. The rehearsal CDs will be available at the OCDA Summer Convention. Charles Chapman will again provide foreign language pronunciation on the rehearsal CDs.
