The 2010 All-State Band in rehearsal
The deadline for student audition applications for the 2011 All-State Band is:
Friday, September 24, 2010. (Must be postmarked on or before this date.) Regular audition fee applies.
Applications postmarked September 25 through October 1 must pay triple fee ($45.00).
Applications postmarked October 2 or later are "Emergency" applications, and carry a $100.00 fee per entry.

A message from the Chair of the 2011 OMEA All-State Band, Kirby Swinney
At the band business meeting in January, the membership decided against requiring the all-state band members to re-audition at the clinic site. Therefore, the audition process at Westmoore High School remains unchanged and chair order will be posted on the day of the final auditions as it has been done in the past.
Also, students selected for membership in more than one OMEA All State honor group will be allowed to make a choice as to which group they choose to be a member of on the day of the final round auditions. The all-state band committee will call these students on their cell phone or their director’s cell phone and ask for an immediate decision. Please advise your students to clearly put the correct cell phone number on their audition card.
Finally, the tone score will be reinstated on the score sheet and will be used to break any ties in a final score instead of the sight reading score in all wind audition rooms. The sight reading score will continue to break any ties in the percussion room.
Though it is some time away, please ensure you take care of the following when it comes time to turn in your OMEA All State forms next year:
- Auditions fees are still $15 per audition. Please send a check or completed PO with your fees. Do NOT send cash.
- Please take the time to fill out the entire form including all contact information. It is important that we are able to reach you with questions or clarifications, ESPECIALLY during the day of final auditions.
- Please include all directors from your school on the form along with their principal instrument and contact numbers. It is an extremely difficult process to secure judges for the final round at Westmoore and this information is vitally important to help ensure a fair audition for your students.
